Overview

As an Estimator at Summa in Terrebonne, Quebec, you will be responsible for evaluating costs related to materials and labor, preparing cost estimates, and managing the budgeting process for various projects. This role involves collaboration with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient cost assessments.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate cost of materials and labor
  • Prepare general and second tier cost estimates
  • Estimate general expenses and conduct business cases
  • Read and interpret plans, maps, drawings, and specifications
  • Utilize computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software
  • Follow quantity takeoff procedures
  • Implement monitoring and reporting processes
  • Prepare and maintain directories of suppliers and trade contractors
  • Communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding cost estimates
