Job Description

Overview

As an Estimator at Summa, you will evaluate costs for materials and labor, prepare various types of cost estimates, and communicate with different stakeholders including engineers and contractors. You will utilize CADD software and follow established procedures for quantity takeoff to ensure accurate project assessments.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate cost of materials and labor
  • Prepare general and second tier cost estimates
  • Estimate general expenses for proposed projects
  • Read and interpret plans, maps, and specifications
  • Use CADD software and other systems for drawing
  • Evaluate costs prior to contract award
  • Follow quantity takeoff procedures
  • Implement monitoring and reporting processes
  • Maintain directories of suppliers and contractors
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, and contractors regarding cost changes
