Job Description

Overview

As an Estimator at Gilson Graphics, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the sales team by calculating job costs and ensuring project profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction. You will work closely with vendors and various internal teams to adapt production processes and explore new technologies for better printing solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Calculate accurate job plan cost estimates for labor and materials
  • Review customer and sales specifications and requirements
  • Maintain balance between profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Advise on material or production method options
  • Communicate requirements to vendors for materials and services
  • Develop project planning estimates utilizing equipment capabilities
  • Collaborate effectively with Sales, Customer Service, and management
  • Refer to previous job cost reports for improvement insights
  • Read and interpret job tickets, layouts, and press impositions
  • Work cooperatively within a team in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Print Management or two years of experience
  • Minimum of two years in Print Management
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Passion for printing and graphic arts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of commercial printing equipment and processes
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with diverse individuals
  • Self-motivated and reliable
