Job Description

Overview

The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking an Estimator for its Maryland Division/HTI to assist in project planning, directing, and coordination alongside Lead Estimators. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, a problem solver, and capable of motivating a team to meet project goals within budget and time constraints.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Solicit and maintain positive relationships with clients
  • Prepare and submit quality estimates within time limits
  • Solicit bids and negotiate contracts with subcontractors
  • Evaluate and prepare pricing for change orders
  • Assist in directing project personnel to ensure progress
  • Follow job costs and manage project budgets
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or relevant field
  • Driver's license and clean driving record
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and project software
  • Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE
  • Physical capability to meet job requirements
