Overview

The Estimator at Gilson Graphics is responsible for calculating job cost estimates and ensuring profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction. This role involves collaborating with the sales team, communicating production requirements, and adapting to new technologies to meet customer demands.

Key responsibilities

  • Calculate accurate job plan cost estimates for labor and materials
  • Review customer and sales specifications and requirements
  • Maintain a balance between profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Advise on options for materials or production methods
  • Communicate requirements to vendors for materials and services
  • Develop project planning estimates utilizing equipment and capabilities
  • Effectively communicate with Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, and management
  • Refer to previous job cost reports for future project improvements
  • Read and interpret information from job tickets and layouts
  • Work cooperatively within a team in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Print Management or two years of experience
  • Minimum of two years in Print Management
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Passion for printing and graphic arts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
