Description: Prairie Band, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimator to support preconstruction and business development efforts by preparing accurate, timely, and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. The Estimator will work closely with operations, project management, subcontractors, suppliers, and business development teams to develop pricing strategies and cost proposals for federal, commercial, tribal, and municipal opportunities.The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, construction knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Estimating & Cost Analysis• Prepare detailed construction cost estimates for bids, proposals, task orders, and negotiated projects.• Review plans, specifications, drawings, and solicitation documents to determine project requirements and pricing strategies.• Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed scope summaries to determine labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and indirect cost estimates.• Analyze project risks and identify pricing considerations that may impact project execution.• Assist in developing project budgets and conceptual estimates during preconstruction.Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination• Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers.• Review subcontractor and vendor quotes for completeness, compliance, and competitiveness.• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.• Assist with maintaining subcontractor databases and historical pricing information.Proposal & Business Development Support• Support proposal teams by developing cost estimates and pricing volumes for construction pursuits.• Participate in proposal kickoff meetings and pricing reviews.• Coordinate with Business Development and Operations teams to ensure estimates align with project strategy and execution plans.• Support preparation of bid forms, pricing schedules, and supporting documentation.Project Review & Planning• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as required.• Evaluate project scope and identify potential risks, exclusions, and assumptions.• Assist in developing bid strategies and recommendation packages for leadership review.• Prepare preliminary construction schedulesProcess Improvement & Documentation• Maintain organized estimate files and supporting documentation.• Support continuous improvement of estimating tools, templates, and procedures.• Assist in developing and maintaining historical cost databases.• Ensure compliance with company estimating standards and procedures. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.• 3-5 years of estimating experience in commercial, federal, civil, industrial, or vertical construction.• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.• Experience performing quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Preferred Qualifications• Experience estimating federal government construction projects.• Familiarity with FAR, Davis-Bacon, and federal construction requirements.• Experience with design-build and design-bid-build delivery methods.• Knowledge of estimating software such as Sage Estimating, HCSS, Bluebeam, Planswift, On-Screen Takeoff, ProEst, RS Means/Gordian or similar platforms.• Knowledge of Scheduling Software's such as MS Project and Primavera P6• OSHA 30 certification.• Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) are a plus.Core Competencies• Attention to Detail• Analytical Thinking• Time Management• Communication Skills• Problem Solving• Accountability & Ownership• Team
