Overview

Shoup Legal is seeking a passionate and organized Estate Planning Attorney to join their team in San Diego. This role focuses on helping clients with estate planning, trust administration, and probate matters, while promoting a positive client experience through a technology-forward approach.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct initial consultations with clients
  • Identify strategies to meet client objectives
  • Draft estate planning documents, including wills and trusts
  • Explain complex legal concepts to clients
  • Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients and other parties
  • Report on caseload during weekly case review meetings
  • Develop client relationships to increase firm revenues

Required skills

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • California State Bar licensed
  • 3+ years of estate planning experience
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Working knowledge of finance, investments, and taxes
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • High degree of discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office Suite and case management software
  • Experience with Wealth Counsel drafting is desired
