Overview

Messerli Kramer P.A. is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Associate Attorney to join their legal team in Minneapolis and St. Michael, MN. The role involves advising clients on a variety of estate planning matters, including will and trust preparation, probate avoidance strategies, and tax planning. Ideal candidates will possess strong legal drafting skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to assess estate planning needs and develop customized estate plans
  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills and trusts
  • Advise clients on estate and tax considerations
  • Develop asset protection and wealth preservation strategies
  • Assist with business succession planning
  • Counsel fiduciaries and beneficiaries on estate and trust administration
  • Collaborate with financial advisors and other professionals
  • Conduct legal research to stay updated on law changes
  • Maintain accurate case files and documentation
  • Participate in business development and networking activities
  • Manage probate and estate administration matters

Required skills

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction
  • 3+ years of experience in estate planning or trust administration
  • Strong knowledge of estate planning and tax planning principles
  • Excellent legal writing and drafting skills
  • Strong interpersonal and client counseling abilities
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and document management systems
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
