Job Description

Overview

Carolina Environmental Construction, LLC is seeking an Equipment Operator to join their team in Charlotte, North Carolina, and support environmental construction projects primarily along the East Coast. The role involves operating heavy machinery and performing various construction tasks with an emphasis on safety and efficiency. This position offers year-round work with opportunities for travel and overtime.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate equipment such as skid steer, loader, and compactors for concrete foundation and site work activities
  • Perform excavation for foundations, trenching, footing preparation, backfill, and rough grading
  • Load, move, and place materials safely and efficiently
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
  • Perform hands-on labor to support carpentry and foundation crews as needed
  • Work independently or as directed by the Foreman to meet project goals

Required skills

  • Prior construction experience as Equipment Operator
  • Experience with concrete and pipe work is a plus
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean record
  • OSHA 10 certification (preferred)
  • Willingness to travel and be away from home 100% of the time
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds frequently
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • Pass background checks and regular drug tests
  • Adhere to safety requirements and procedures
