Job Description

Overview

The Equipment Operator at Ondrick Materials & Recycling, LLC in Chicopee, MA, will focus on operating heavy equipment and handling materials safely and efficiently within the aggregate, paving, and hardscape industries. The role requires adherence to safety procedures and company policies, while contributing to the Fine Grading team and overall operational goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate large equipment safely in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations
  • Perform layout, grading, and drainage tasks
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and maintenance on front loaders, dozers, and excavators
  • Load trucks safely and efficiently
  • Follow all local, state, and federal regulations and company safety procedures
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed

Required skills

  • 2 years' experience operating heavy equipment
  • Experience with dozers and excavators
  • Valid MA Hoisting license and MA Driver's license
  • DOT medical card
  • Ability to exert physical force as required in the job
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Knowledge of GPS calibration and operation
  • Good hand-eye coordination and motor skills
