Job Description

Overview

ElectriCom Inc is seeking an Equipment Operator for their utility construction projects in Clarksville, Indiana. This role offers an opportunity to work with heavy equipment and support field crews while ensuring safety and efficiency on job sites.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, and rock saws
  • Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation
  • Assist crews with groundwork and installation tasks
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain awareness of underground and overhead utilities
  • Load, unload, and secure equipment and materials
  • Work outdoors in all weather and terrain conditions
  • Travel to job sites, including overnight out-of-town assignments
  • Participate in required training and perform traffic control as needed

Required skills

  • Experience operating heavy construction equipment
  • Telecom/utility experience preferred
  • Ability to read and follow construction plans and job specifications
  • Strong understanding of job-site safety and utility-location awareness
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Commitment to safe work practices
  • Ability to work outdoors and travel as needed
