Overview

ElectriCom Inc is looking for an Equipment Operator to support aerial and underground fiber-construction projects in Clarksville, Indiana. This role involves operating heavy equipment and assisting field crews while ensuring safety and efficiency on the job site. Candidates should be prepared for outdoor work in varying weather conditions and potential overnight travel.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, and trenchers
  • Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation
  • Assist crews with groundwork and installation tasks
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain awareness of utilities
  • Load, unload, and secure equipment and materials
  • Travel to job sites, including overnight assignments
  • Participate in training and perform traffic control as needed

Required skills

  • Experience operating heavy construction equipment
  • Ability to read and follow construction plans
  • Understanding of job-site safety and utility-location awareness
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work outdoors and travel as needed
