Overview

The Epic Senior Systems Analyst at OhioHealth is instrumental in optimizing clinical and operational workflows by designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting Epic applications. This role demands extensive healthcare workflow knowledge, system integration experience, and project management skills to enhance the healthcare IT infrastructure while ensuring compliance and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and map workflows.
  • Design Epic build aligning with operational goals and policy.
  • Conduct gap analyses for configuration changes and upgrades.
  • Configure records and workflows in accordance with approved designs.
  • Develop and execute testing plans; document and resolve defects.
  • Coordinate release management and downtime procedures.
  • Manage service requests and incidents; meet SLAs through analysis.
  • Lead smaller projects related to system implementations.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations.
  • Support regulatory readiness and embed privacy/security controls.

Required skills

  • Experience with Epic applications and healthcare workflows.
  • Strong skills in requirements gathering and workflow design.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, change control, and both waterfall/agile methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate with clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Experience in system integration and interface testing (HL7, FHIR).
  • Proficiency in SQL, Clarity, and reporting tools.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in system analysis within a healthcare environment.
