Job Description

Overview

The Epic Senior Systems Analyst at OhioHealth is responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting Epic applications to enhance clinical and operational workflows. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare systems, project management, and collaboration with operational leaders to optimize the healthcare IT infrastructure and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Engage stakeholders to gather and refine requirements and map current-state workflows.
  • Create and maintain specifications, decision logs, and design documents.
  • Conduct gap analyses for upgrades and new initiatives.
  • Configure records, master files, and tools based on approved designs.
  • Develop and execute unit, integrated, and UAT test plans; log and resolve defects.
  • Coordinate release management, environment moves, and downtime procedures.
  • Manage service requests and incidents, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Create and maintain documentation for system configurations and processes.
  • Mentor junior analysts on best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT and clinical teams for system integration.

Required skills

  • Experience with Epic application(s) and healthcare workflows.
  • Strong requirements gathering, workflow design, and testing skills.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, change control, and SDLC practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects and leading teams.
  • Preferred Epic Certification or proficiency in relevant modules.
  • Experience with system integration, HL7, FHIR, and interface testing.
  • Exposure to SQL, Clarity, and reporting tools.
  • Prior work experience in patient access, billing, or clinical operations.
