Job Description

Overview

The Senior Systems Analyst Epic at OhioHealth plays a critical role in optimizing clinical and operational workflows by designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting Epic applications. This position requires in-depth knowledge of healthcare workflows and project management, working closely with operational leaders and end-users to translate business needs into effective system solutions while ensuring the integrity and security of the application environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Engage stakeholders to gather requirements and design Epic build aligned with operational goals.
  • Maintain specifications, decision logs, and design documents for traceability and change control.
  • Configure records, master files, and tools aligned to approved designs.
  • Develop and execute test plans; log and resolve defects; document test evidence.
  • Coordinate release management and downtime procedures for upgrades.
  • Provide go-live and post-live support, including training and documentation.
  • Manage service requests and incidents, ensuring SLAs are met.
  • Collaborate with IT and clinical teams for system integration.
  • Manage smaller projects related to system implementations and upgrades.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for system configurations and processes.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in system analysis and support within a healthcare environment
  • Experience with Epic applications and healthcare workflows
  • Strong requirements gathering, workflow design, and testing skills
  • Familiarity with ITIL, change control, SDLC practices, and project methodologies
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects
  • Current Epic Certification or proficiency in relevant Epic modules preferred
  • Experience with HL7, FHIR, and interface testing
  • Exposure to SQL, Clarity, Caboodle, or reporting tools
  • Prior experience in patient access, billing, coding, or clinical operations
