Overview

The Epic Analyst II (OpTime) at Boston Children's Hospital is an experienced team resource responsible for supporting assigned Epic applications and end users. This role requires a deep understanding of operational workflows and a specialization in specific areas to resolve moderately complex issues while contributing to system optimization and support activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as a team resource with developing expertise in assigned operations and supported Epic applications.
  • Engage with end users to understand business needs related to workflows, data, and system functionality.
  • Conduct operational and technical analysis to inform solution design.
  • Participate in ticket analysis to troubleshoot issues and identify enhancement opportunities.
  • Independently perform moderately complex Epic configuration as per departmental standards.
  • Coordinate implementation of solutions impacting supported applications and teams.
  • Participate in Epic upgrades, including reviewing release notes and supporting testing activities.
  • Communicate effectively with users and stakeholders about supported applications and workflows.
  • Guide less experienced team members in build, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Engage in professional development and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years of experience supporting Epic applications
  • Experience in operational analysis, application support, and user training
  • Epic certification in OpTime or Anesthesia module
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt preferred
  • Direct operational domain experience (e.g., revenue cycle, ambulatory, inpatient)
