Job Description

Overview

The Environmental Services Technician at Good Samaritan is responsible for ensuring that patient and resident areas are clean and safe, following established infection control and safety protocols. This full-time role requires physical activity and attention to detail to maintain high standards of hygiene in various locations within the facility.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness in patient/resident rooms and common areas
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures
  • Empty waste baskets and manage waste disposal
  • Sweep, scrub, polish, and wax floors using appropriate equipment
  • Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are well-stocked and organized
  • Perform laundry tasks as needed
  • Utilize technology for communication and task management
  • Be on feet for the majority of the shift and handle physical tasks

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Previous custodial experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Ability to lift and move 40-50lbs
