Job Description

Overview

Fusco Personnel is seeking an experienced Environmental Department Manager to lead operations for a growing environmental consulting and engineering services firm in the Capital Region of New York. This leadership role involves overseeing environmental consulting services, managing staff and client relationships, and supporting departmental growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage environmental consulting projects from routine assessments to complex investigations
  • Oversee environmental site assessments, subsurface investigations, remediation planning, and industrial hygiene programs
  • Lead and mentor technical staff in scheduling, hiring, training, and performance management
  • Develop and maintain client relationships while supporting business development initiatives
  • Oversee departmental financial performance including budgeting and monthly reporting
  • Ensure project proposals, reports, and deliverables meet internal standards and regulatory requirements

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
  • 10+ years of environmental consulting or related management experience
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and client relationship skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects, staff, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Knowledge of environmental remediation, abatement, and regulatory processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally for project needs
