Job Description

Overview

The Engineering Test Lab Manager at Adams Thermal Systems is responsible for overseeing the Engineering Test Lab's operations, including engineering tests, equipment maintenance and calibration, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role includes hands-on testing, technical support, and managing the lab's metrics while also supervising a small team of technicians.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a test schedule for timely completion of tests
  • Design and lead new test capabilities based on market demands
  • Program data acquisition systems as needed
  • Coordinate tests with external laboratories
  • Monitor tests for accuracy and completeness
  • Document tests and issue test reports following procedures
  • Lead or assist with capital or improvement projects
  • Guide engineering and technical personnel in the development of test apparatus
  • Manage the development, installation, and calibration of testing instruments and equipment
  • Analyze test data and prepare technical reports
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for capital and expenses
  • Create and maintain training plans for lab technicians
  • Enforce company policies and ensure safety compliance
  • Develop a Preventative Maintenance plan for lab equipment

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Ag Engineering
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience
  • Experience in heat transfer and automotive supplier industries preferred
  • Experience in OEM manufacturing settings
  • Database software knowledge
