Job Description

Overview

As the Engineering Manager at Nestlé Purina, you will oversee the engineering and maintenance functions of a new, technologically advanced pet food manufacturing facility. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the efficient operation of the plant, focusing on sustainability, safety, and effective management of the capital budget while supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage engineering and maintenance functions for efficient plant operation
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate the capital budget for equipment and facilities
  • Inspect and advise on equipment design, evaluation, and troubleshooting
  • Coordinate the operation of critical systems including power, water, HVAC, and fire protection
  • Ensure compliance of outside contractors with company standards
  • Direct installation of new equipment and modifications for projects
  • Provide leadership and training for maintenance and engineering teams
  • Establish performance standards and administer appraisals for department members
  • Review and approve equipment purchase orders and service agreements

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 7+ years of progressive engineering experience
  • Experience in people leadership and project management
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and industrial environments
  • Knowledge of safety management and sustainability practices
  • Budgeting and process improvement skills
