Job Description

Overview

As an Engineering Drafting Technician at Preformed Line Products, you will be tasked with developing and detailing new products and revisions, utilizing advanced drafting techniques. This role involves working closely with engineers to create detailed drawings and models, while managing CAD files and supporting solar project layouts.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop detailed drawings and solid models of complex parts and assemblies
  • Control CAD and engineering files in Windchill PDM software
  • Prepare exploded view assembly drawings
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Lead team output effectively
  • Create artistic graphic work for product quotations and visual aids
  • Document product design in collaboration with engineers
  • Operate CAD and 3D printing software
  • Set up and maintain 3D printing equipment
  • Assist in producing 2D drawings for solar project layouts

Required skills

  • Associate degree in mechanical drafting or engineering technology
  • 5-10 years of experience with 3D and 2D CAD software
  • Experience with PTC products (Creo and Windchill)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to create 3D models and 2D detailed drawings
  • Thorough understanding of CAD software
