Job Description

Overview

The Critical Facility Engineer at ABM Industries is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of essential systems within data centers. This includes overseeing electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment while maintaining high customer satisfaction and ensuring uptime of over 99.999%. The role requires interaction with various teams and vendors, along with handling both planned and emergency maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure timely completion of required work for data center operations
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance and emergency responses
  • Serve as a technical resource for facility operations
  • Operate critical systems with routine and emergency services
  • Communicate effectively with Onsite Engineering Operations and third-party vendors

Required skills

  • 10+ years of experience in mission-critical environments
  • Current electrical/mechanical Journeyman's license preferred
  • Hands-on electrical and mechanical skills
  • Competence in non-expertise areas of electrical or mechanical systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Mechanical and/or electrical OEM factory specific training
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications
