Overview

The EMR Operations-Privacy Coordinator at CoxHealth is responsible for overseeing the management of medical records and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and internal regulations. This role involves coordinating information flow from patient encounters to claim submissions and acting as the main point of contact for the Release of Information Vendor.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with medical legal requirements for maintaining medical records
  • Oversee the flow of information from patient encounter to claim submission
  • Act as primary contact between CoxHealth and Release of Information Vendor
  • Serve as Custodian of Records and represent CoxHealth in court as needed
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for regulatory compliance

Required skills

  • In-depth knowledge of medical legal requirements
  • Experience in a leadership role within Health Information Management
  • Proficiency in Epic Systems and knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to train others and present effectively
  • Competency with computers and various software programs
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HIM
