Overview

The Employment Support Specialist at Comhar Inc. will work in Philadelphia within the Day Program to support adults with disabilities in gaining employment skills and securing competitive jobs. The role involves providing individualized training, assessments, and resources to promote independence and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide on-the-job training, counseling, and job development supports for consumers
  • Create opportunities for assessments, internships, or paid employment
  • Deliver services that promote independence and self-sufficiency
  • Collaborate with staff, consumers, and employers to enhance employment outcomes
  • Participate in professional development and training to improve service quality
  • Follow agency policies and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders
  • Conduct timely service provision and documentation

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED (Level 1) or Bachelor's degree (Level 2)
  • ACRE certification within 60 days of hire
  • Experience with individuals having developmental or intellectual disabilities
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle changing priorities
  • Clinical nursing skills including assessment and knowledge of behavioral health systems
  • Flexibility in scheduling
