Job Description

Overview

The Employment Support Specialist at Comhar Inc. will work within the Day Program to promote competitive integrated employment for adults with disabilities. This role involves delivering individualized support, including on-the-job training, job development, and assessments, fostering skills for independence and community participation.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide on-the-job training, counseling, and resources to promote independence and community participation.
  • Create opportunities for assessments, internships, or paid employment that align with individuals' interests and skills.
  • Work cooperatively with staff, consumers, and employers to ensure a person-centered approach.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance service quality.
  • Maintain professional relationships with case managers and funding sources.
  • Document service provision in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED for Level 1; Bachelor's degree for Level 2
  • ACRE certification within 60 days of hire
  • Experience with individuals having developmental or intellectual disabilities
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills and flexibility in handling changes
