Overview

The Employment Litigation Attorney position at Wilshire Law Firm, a prominent legal practice in Oregon, involves representing clients in employment law cases against large corporations. The attorney will manage their own caseload while collaborating with a dedicated team and mentoring junior staff, all within a culture centered on excellence, teamwork, and integrity.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of plaintiff-side employment litigation matters.
  • Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and other legal filings.
  • Conduct and defend depositions, including third party and witness depositions.
  • Handle all phases of written discovery.
  • Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, trial, and appeal.
  • Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to manage cases.
  • Communicate with clients and provide regular updates on case status.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and support staff as appropriate.

Required skills

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active bar membership in Oregon
  • 4+ years of employment litigation experience, preferably on the plaintiff side
  • Experience with Wage & Hour Class Actions and Oregon employment laws
  • Strong litigation skills, including motion practice, discovery, and depositions
  • Trial experience or substantial trial preparation experience
