Job Description

Overview

The EMLK (Punch/Laser Operator) at Metalcraft of Mayville is responsible for operating Amada EMLK equipment and managing parts in a Just-in-time fabrication shop. This role requires interaction with various departments and may involve assisting other operators as needed on different shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate Amada EMLK 3610 NT CNC Laser Turret combination press equipment
  • Maintain tooling libraries and equipment for daily operations
  • Load and unload products to and from machines
  • Assist in the use of other sheet metal fabrication machines like press brakes and welders
  • Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications
  • Complete necessary paperwork accurately
  • Follow safety guidelines and workplace rules
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Strong background in Laser, Turret Punch, or CNC machine operation
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Competence in basic dimensional measuring and use of precision measurement tools
  • Basic understanding of shop math and blueprints
  • Previous experience with overhead cranes is a plus
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible and responsive teamwork orientation
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
