Job Description

Overview

St. David's Medical Center is seeking a GME Program Director for its Emergency Medicine residency program in Cedar Park, Texas. This hybrid role will combine responsibilities in both program leadership and clinical practice within a level II Trauma emergency department, focusing on enhancing the quality and standards of the residency program while integrating it with hospital services.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, organize, and administer the Emergency Medicine residency program
  • Establish strategic direction for the program
  • Ensure standards, quality, and reputation of the residency program
  • Integrate the residency program with physician practices and hospital services
  • Participate in ongoing scholarly activities, including peer-reviewed publications
  • Manage clinical coverage, including some nights and weekends

Required skills

  • Minimum three years' experience as physician faculty in an ACGME accredited Emergency Medicine residency program
  • Current Certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine
  • Demonstrated clinical competency as a practicing emergency medicine physician
  • Experience in a leadership role (APD, core faculty, residency committee chair, or site director)
  • Educational and administrative abilities required for program leadership
