Job Description

Overview

The Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director at St. David's Medical Center will lead the Graduate Medical Education (GME) program while also engaging in clinical responsibilities within a Level II Trauma emergency department. This hybrid role requires strategic direction, quality assurance, and integration of the residency program with clinical services to enhance educational value.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the organization and administration of the Emergency Medicine residency program
  • Establish strategic direction and maintain standards for the program
  • Integrate residency program with physician practices and hospital clinical services
  • Ensure quality and reputation of the residency program
  • Participate in ongoing scholarly activity and peer-reviewed publications
  • Provide clinical coverage including some nights and weekends

Required skills

  • Minimum of three years' experience as physician faculty in an ACGME accredited Emergency Medicine residency program
  • Current Certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine
  • Demonstrated clinical competency as a practicing emergency medicine physician
  • Experience in a leadership role (APD, core faculty, residency committee chair, or site director)
  • Educational and administrative abilities to achieve program goals
