Job Description

Overview

St. David's Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director to oversee the leadership, organization, operation, and general administration of the Emergency Medicine residency program. This hybrid role includes responsibilities in both graduate medical education and clinical practice within a level II Trauma emergency department.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Emergency Medicine residency program
  • Develop and establish the strategic direction of the program
  • Ensure compliance with standards, quality, and reputation of the residency program
  • Integrate the residency program with physician practices and hospital clinical services
  • Participate in ongoing scholarly activity including peer-reviewed publications
  • Provide 50% clinical coverage including some nights and weekends

Required skills

  • Minimum of three years' experience as physician faculty in an ACGME accredited Emergency Medicine residency program
  • Current Certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine
  • Demonstrated clinical competency as a practicing emergency medicine physician
  • Experience in a leadership role (APD, core faculty, residency committee chair, or site director)
  • Ability to fulfill educational and administrative responsibilities effectively
