Job Description

Overview

TeamHealth is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant in Pittsfield, Maine, to provide quality care in a fast-paced environment. The role involves collaborating with emergency physicians and support staff to ensure high-quality treatment for patients with a variety of medical conditions.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive and focused histories and physical exams on patients of all ages
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work, EKGs, and imaging
  • Formulate differential diagnoses and develop appropriate treatment plans
  • Perform procedures such as suturing lacerations, incision and drainage, splinting and joint reductions, and wound care
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians and consult specialty services when appropriate
  • Document all patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with departmental policies
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
