Overview

SSM Health is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant to join their team at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. This role involves providing critical care to patients, including admissions, consults, and post-operative care, in a state-of-the-art facility on a nocturnist schedule.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care to critical care patients
  • Perform patient admissions and consults
  • Care for post-operative surgical patients
  • Work on a nocturnist schedule (7p-7a, 7on/7off)
  • Assist in procedural tasks such as intubation and central/arterial line placement

Required skills

  • Graduate of a nationally accredited NP or PA program
  • Acute Care certification for NPs
  • Experience post-education as an ACNP or PA
  • Ability to obtain PA/NP licensure in Illinois
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Procedural skills in intubation and central/arterial lines
