Overview

The Elevator Constructor Apprenticeship offers an opportunity for individuals interested in building a career in the elevator industry. This apprenticeship allows candidates to work hands-on with complex machinery while earning training and job experience under the International Union of Elevator Constructors.

Key responsibilities

  • Apply for apprenticeship through the Local Joint Apprenticeship Committee
  • Participate in EIAT sessions and interviews at the Local Union hall
  • Pass a reading and math examination for aptitude in the elevator industry
  • Complete a Tool Assessment to demonstrate knowledge of basic tools and measuring skills
  • Meet physical job requirements and pass a drug test upon selection
