Overview

Match Education is seeking an Elementary School ESL Teacher to support multilingual learners at their charter public school in Boston. The role emphasizes teaching language and providing inclusive support within general education classes, as well as managing language acquisition programming.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide co-teaching, instructional, and inclusion support in general education classes with multilingual learners.
  • Deliver targeted language interventions to multilingual students in small groups.
  • Use ELD levels and formative assessments to drive instruction and achieve language acquisition goals.
  • Manage language acquisition programming including paperwork, professional development, and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
  • Participate in coaching and professional development programs.
  • Assist with school programming during non-instructional times.
  • Collaborate with school staff on language development best practices.

Required skills

  • At least two years of full-time experience as an ESL, classroom, or special education teacher.
  • Valid ESL license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • Experience in urban education settings.
  • Ability to believe in and support all students' potential for success.
  • Desire to continually improve teaching practices.
