Job Description

Overview

Butler America Aerospace is seeking an enthusiastic Electronics Technician or Associate Electrical Engineer with an AS in Electrical Engineering or a BS in Electrical Engineering Technology. The role involves working with both legacy and new Elevator control system electronics and requires a strong hands-on ability in PCB fabrication and testing, as well as the design and building of test equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Procure components and organize BOM for PCB assembly
  • Assemble and fabricate PCBs using various soldering techniques
  • Download software and firmware into target assemblies and evaluate PCB performance
  • Design and fabricate test circuits and equipment for elevator systems
  • Identify and document viable alternatives for obsolete components
  • Perform first article inspections and root-cause failure analysis on assemblies
  • Manage the engineering lab crib and organize calibration of instruments
  • Participate in maintenance and repair of test equipment related to elevators

Required skills

  • AS in Electrical Engineering or BS in Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and curve-tracers
  • Comfort with high-voltage equipment
  • Experience with PCB assembly, procurement, and design
  • Fluency with electrical engineering CAD tools
  • Strong electrical and mechanical engineering aptitude
  • Knowledge of laboratory instruments and test equipment
