Job Description

Overview

The U.S. Navy is seeking Electronics Technicians (ET) to maintain, operate, and repair sophisticated electronics and computing systems aboard various naval vessels. ETs will work closely with radar, communications, and navigation systems as part of the Combat Systems department, contributing to mission-critical operations both at sea and at shore-based facilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as an Electronics Technician or Fire Controlman post-training based on performance and Navy needs
  • Maintain and repair radar, communication, and navigation equipment including related transceivers and displays
  • Operate, maintain, and repair fire control radars and weapon control consoles
  • Troubleshoot complex electronic and electromechanical faults using technical documentation and test equipment
  • Maintain configuration control and documentation supporting inspections and combat system readiness
  • Engage in hands-on technical work combining classroom training and intensive lab practice
  • Work under time pressure to restore critical combat systems and communications
  • Conform strictly to safety procedures and established technical documentation
