Job Description

Overview

The Electronics Design Lead at Clarios will act as the technical lead for electronics projects, leveraging deep expertise in electronics development. This role focuses on creating innovative technical solutions while collaborating with management and key stakeholders to align priorities and achieve business objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary electronics interface and lead negotiations of customer specifications.
  • Instruct the team in industry standards and internal design guidelines to establish electrical product requirements.
  • Lead requirements analysis and validation planning activities according to automotive functional safety and ASPICE processes.
  • Oversee design verification activities, including engineering analysis, simulation, design reviews, and validation testing.
  • Guide design direction for electronic circuits, focusing on analog, digital, micro-controller architecture, and power circuits.
  • Generate technical requirements for electrical architecture and circuit design, including components and sub-assemblies.
  • Collaborate with the embedded software engineering team to develop hardware/software interface specifications.
  • Optimize electrical system design for cost, performance, mass, volume, and energy efficiency.
  • Review electrical design analyses and test results in support of design verification.
  • Define test setups, plans, and execute tests for electrical circuits and components.
  • Direct suppliers to deliver components to specifications and costs.
  • Ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) to optimize design for manufacturing processes.
  • Lead the electronic project team to develop electronics according to process requirements and best practices.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 12 years of professional engineering experience in related field
  • OE Automotive/Tier 1 embedded electronics design experience
  • Full lifecycle automotive electronics experience
  • Expert in electronic design and development tools (schematic capture, layout, analysis, simulation)
  • Expert with electronic circuit debug and test
  • Expert in electrical engineering equipment (power supplies, DMM's, oscilloscopes)
  • Expert knowledge of CAN, LIN, and Ethernet and associated development tools
  • Experience with Li-Ion battery management (preferred)
