Job Description

Overview

The Electronics Design Lead at Clarios will serve as the technical lead for electronics projects, leading the development of innovative technical solutions and collaborating with management to align priorities. The role requires deep expertise in electronics development and involves a high degree of autonomy in advancing the technical capabilities of the department and the organization as a whole.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead negotiation of customer specifications as the primary electronics interface.
  • Instruct team on industry standards and establish electrical product requirements.
  • Conduct requirements analysis and validation planning according to automotive functional safety and ASPICE processes.
  • Oversee design verification activities including engineering analysis, simulation, design reviews, and validation testing.
  • Direct design for core and customer electronic circuit designs including analog and digital architectures.
  • Guide the team in generating technical requirements for electrical architecture and circuit design.
  • Generate hardware/software interface specifications and electronic test software requirements.
  • Lead design and test for vehicle level electrical and electromagnetic performance.
  • Optimize electrical system design for cost, performance, mass, volume, and energy efficiency.
  • Review electrical design analyses and test results.
  • Define test setups, plans, and execute tests for electrical circuits and components.
  • Manage suppliers to ensure delivery of components to specifications.
  • Ensure design for manufacturability.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 12 years of professional engineering experience in electronics design
  • OE Automotive/Tier 1 embedded electronics design experience
  • Full lifecycle automotive electronics experience
  • Expertise in electronic design and development tools
  • Expertise in electronic circuit debug and test
  • Proficiency with electrical engineering equipment such as power supplies, DMMs, and oscilloscopes
  • Knowledge of CAN, LIN, and Ethernet and associated development tools
