Overview

Orica is seeking an early career Electronics Assembler for their Maple Ridge, BC location. This role offers hands-on technical work within a structured manufacturing environment, suitable for individuals with 1-2 years of experience in electronics or manufacturing. The position involves collaborating with experienced team members while assembling complex electronic components and improving skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical, electronic, and mechanical sub assemblies, including cable assemblies and wiring harnesses
  • Read and follow technical drawings, schematics, and detailed work instructions
  • Perform soldering, wire crimping, riveting, bolting, and micro welding as required
  • Assemble enclosures and instrumentation components to specification
  • Conduct functional testing and basic troubleshooting of completed assemblies
  • Identify quality or process improvement opportunities and support updates to work instructions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety compliant work area

Required skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in an electronics assembly, manufacturing, or technical production environment
  • Hands-on experience with electronics assembly, soldering, and wire crimping
  • Ability to read technical drawings or strong demonstrated ability to learn and interpret them quickly
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and quality mindset
  • Basic computer skills (digital work instructions, databases, spreadsheets)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet production timelines
