Job Description

Overview

The Electronic Warfare Engineer at Northrop Grumman will play a critical role in developing cutting-edge electronic warfare subsystems as part of an interdisciplinary team in Melbourne, Florida. This position requires security clearance and offers opportunities for hands-on work in designing, testing, and integrating advanced technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Support development and integration of electronic warfare subsystems and components
  • Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Perform Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and capture requirements and interfaces
  • Conduct functional and performance analyses and detailed trade studies
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain supplier documentation and performance-based specifications
  • Perform informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements in lab settings
  • Conduct aircraft ground and flight tests to validate subsystem requirements

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline and 2 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in STEM with no experience,
  • Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum
  • Experience with RF equipment design and testing for airborne platforms
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering tools like Cameo
  • Familiarity with MATLAB and Excel for performance analysis
  • Experience using Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Supplier and subcontract management experience
  • Ability to draft and evaluate supplier documentation
