Job Description

Overview

Traf-Tex, Inc. is seeking an Electronic Fiber Optic Technician to perform troubleshooting on electronic and mechanical systems, including outdoor work and installation of various Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS). The candidate should have experience with diagnostic equipment and be familiar with IT networking, as well as the ability to work at heights occasionally.

Key responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electronic and mechanical systems
  • Use diagnostic equipment such as VOM and oscilloscopes
  • Work with CCTV, Electronic Dynamic Message Signs, and Fiber Optics
  • Read and follow electronic schematics
  • Perform outdoor work along roads and major corridors
  • Potentially work at heights up to 75' in aerial buckets
  • Engage in installations and maintenance of traffic signal systems

Required skills

  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in IT networking
  • Familiarity with computer applications, including Excel and Word
  • Formal electronic or military electronic training preferred
  • Ability to read electronic schematics
  • Experience with diagnostic equipment
