Overview

Messina Talent Advisors is seeking an Electronic Engineering Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Chicago. The technician will work with a leading manufacturer of automated equipment for industrial laundries, focusing on testing and debugging electronic boards and supporting the machine production and service departments.

Key responsibilities

  • Testing and debugging of electronic boards
  • Production, testing, and debugging of microcontroller-based PCBs
  • Loading software, configuring, and testing industrial PCs and PLCs
  • Supporting the machine production and service department
  • Maintaining support documentation for manufacturing and testing
  • Building and maintaining electrical/electronic test fixtures
  • Providing customer phone assistance for troubleshooting

Required skills

  • Technical degree in electronics or equivalent experience
  • Strong electronics troubleshooting skills
  • PCB level experience
  • Documentation skills with worksheets and spreadsheets
  • Mechanical aptitude and use of hand tools
  • Experience in CAD for sheet-metal and circuit board design
  • Electrical panel assembly and troubleshooting
