Overview

The Electro-Mechanical Technician role at L3Harris Technologies involves analyzing and executing the assembly and testing of complex electro-mechanical systems. The position supports critical missions in defense and national security, requiring technical proficiency and strict adherence to safety protocols within a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret complex mechanical and electrical schematics
  • Execute assembly of complex electro-mechanical assemblies with attention to detail
  • Handle and apply chemicals and sealants while adhering to safety protocols
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components
  • Investigate and resolve assembly level defects in collaboration with senior technicians
  • Conduct environmental screening and performance tests on systems
  • Manage multiple priorities to meet project timelines and production goals
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration with engineers and production teams
  • Maintain detailed records of assembly, maintenance, and testing efforts
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in assembly processes

Required skills

  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Experience in assembling, configuring, and testing electromechanical systems
  • Skilled in diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues
  • Ability to load and configure software on integrated hardware systems
  • Proficiency in operating large test equipment
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
  • Ability to identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical or Electro-mechanical fields
  • Community College diploma in Mechanical Technician/Technology or equivalent
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and working in ISO9000/AS9100 environments
