Overview

L3Harris Technologies is looking for an Electro-Mechanical technician for the afternoon shift in Waterdown, Ontario. The role involves handling complex electromechanical assemblies, focusing on both assembly and testing procedures, while adhering to strict safety protocols and documentation practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics for assembly and testing
  • Execute the assembly of complex electro-mechanical systems with attention to detail
  • Handle chemicals and apply safety protocols during assembly
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components
  • Investigate and resolve assembly defects through collaboration
  • Manage multiple priorities to meet project timelines
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration with engineers and production teams
  • Maintain detailed records of assembly and testing efforts
  • Perform diagnostic testing and electro-mechanical repairs on customer-owned equipment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in assembly processes

Required skills

  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Experience in assembling and testing electromechanical systems
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and diagnostics of electrical and mechanical issues
  • Proficiency in operating environmental and performance testing equipment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and suggest process improvements
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • 3-5 years' experience in the Mechanical and/or Electro-mechanical field
  • Community College diploma in Mechanical Technician/Technology or equivalent
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and ISO9000, AS9100 environments
