Job Description

Overview

The Electro Mechanic I at Cargill will perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot basic problems on computer-controlled systems. This role involves using maintenance and reliability practices to ensure all equipment remains in good condition and to help prolong its lifespan.

Key responsibilities

  • Modify programming as needed according to general guidelines
  • Participate in the design and installation of new or upgraded equipment and machines
  • Complete troubleshooting of mechanical-electrical failures and machine automation
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve plant asset reliability while troubleshooting machinery failures
  • Perform periodic inspections and maintenance of processing equipment and other mechanical and electrical systems
  • Conduct preventive, predictive, and reactive industrial electrical work across the plant using standard maintenance tools
  • Install and test low and high voltage systems (600V) and assist others in maintenance activities
  • Follow direct schematics, plans, manuals, and instructions
  • Document completed work and conditions using maintenance software
  • Utilize mobile equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts as needed
