Overview

Wajax Limited is seeking a hands-on Electro-Mechanic in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, to join their team. In this role, you will work on inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding electric motors, generators, and rotating equipment in a shop environment. This position is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude who is eager to learn and collaborate with experienced team members.

Key responsibilities

  • Tear down and reassemble motors, generators, and rotating equipment
  • Remove and install bearings
  • Clean, organize, and store parts for reassembly
  • Identify parts needed for proper assembly
  • Withdraw materials for jobs
  • Grit blast and paint equipment
  • Complete service paperwork and QA documentation
  • Assist with electrical testing and inspections
  • Record test results and job details
  • Help with final run testing and vibration checks
  • Assist with rigging and handling equipment during repairs
  • Support safe movement of parts and equipment in the shop
  • Follow shop safety procedures and report incidents
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Inspect work before proceeding to the next step
  • Prepare completed equipment for shipping
  • Complete timesheets and paperwork on time

Required skills

  • 1 to 3 years of related mechanical, industrial, or shop experience preferred
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to use hand tools and work safely in a shop environment
  • Experience with rigging and lifting devices
  • Strong work ethic and dependability
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required
