Overview

Loyola University Maryland is seeking an Electrician II to perform essential electrical work including installation, repair, and maintenance of various electrical systems. The role requires adherence to safety procedures and the ability to coordinate electrical renovations while ensuring compliance with local electrical codes.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain transformers, generators, and electrical panels
  • Test electrical circuits and ensure safety of components
  • Prepare sketches for new or modified installations
  • Assist contractors and monitor project adherence to specifications
  • Inspect work sites and determine material and tool requirements
  • Prepare labor and material estimates
  • Prepare daily operation and project status reports
  • Assist with snow and ice removal on campus as needed

Required skills

  • Vocational or technical training
  • Journeyman's or master's certification license
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in electrical work
  • Knowledge of local electrical codes and standard procedures
  • Ability to apply electrical formulas
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
