Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Electrician to join our industrial maintenance department in Gainesville, Florida. This full-time role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in various settings, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards while working on diverse projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical diagrams, and construction plans
  • Work with low voltage and high voltage systems in accordance with NEC standards
  • Use programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to automate industrial processes and troubleshoot control systems
  • Collaborate with construction teams on renovation projects and general handyman duties
  • Conduct routine maintenance on electrical infrastructure to prevent outages and ensure safety compliance
  • Document all work performed accurately in reports and logs while adhering to safety protocols

Required skills

  • Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial settings
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and code compliance
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
  • Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage wiring, high voltage systems
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
  • Construction site experience, including renovation projects and framing carpentry
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and protocols
