Overview

West Fraser is seeking an experienced Electrician to join their team in Saint George, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Allen Bradley systems and a background in maintaining electrical equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role emphasizes safety and teamwork, offering opportunities for career development in a stable and challenging work atmosphere.

Key responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, correct, and maintain all electrical equipment within the manufacturing facility
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards and defects
  • Test electrical systems and circuits in wiring, equipment, or fixtures
  • Program and upgrade Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Work with vendors to identify needed parts and recommend solutions
  • Understand and update instrumentation loop diagrams, E & I drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Install electrical equipment and update power distribution systems

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC5 and ControlLogix 5000
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and printed instructions
  • Electrical troubleshooting and maintenance skills
  • Knowledge of safety protocols
  • Understanding of low voltage wiring
  • Experience with fiber optic installation
