Our client, a leading organization in the engineering and data center industry, is seeking an Electrical Technician to join their team. As an Electrical Technician, you will be part of the Data Center Operations team supporting mission-critical infrastructure. This role is intended for experienced, tenured technicians with a strong background in commercial, industrial, or data center environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced technical knowledge, strong leadership capability, proactive communication, and a commitment to operational excellence. Electrical Technician Sparks, Nevada - Onsite 6-24 Month Contract Pay Rate: $36/hour Work Schedule & Shift Structure Schedule: 12-hour shifts (PST) Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM Night: 7:30 PM - 7:00 AM Work Patterns: Front Half: Sun-Tue + alternating Wed Back Half: Wed-Fri + alternating Sat Day and Night shifts available for both patterns What's the Job? Operate and maintain critical infrastructure systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, cooling equipment, and building monitoring systems, including executing emergency response procedures. Support and participate in projects focused on increasing facility efficiency, reliability, and effectiveness, while managing asset and inventory controls. Manage and oversee on-site operations, including shift technicians, senior technicians, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring strict adherence to established procedures and safety standards. Establish performance benchmarks, analyze operational data, and prepare detailed reports on facility performance and maintenance activities. Coordinate with IT managers and business leaders to manage capacity planning, optimize safety, and improve system performance and reliability. What's Needed? Bachelor's Degree or Technical Degree (Military, Trade School, or equivalent experience preferred). 4+ years of progressive experience in data center operations, critical facilities, or industrial/commercial engineering environments. Hands-on experience beyond residential facilities (data centers, industrial plants, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or large commercial environments strongly preferred). Proven experience overseeing or leading technical teams, vendors, or operations. Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems supporting mission-critical infrastructure. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. Strong leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment. What's in It for Me?
